Welcome to the Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club - the RVMYC is the first founded motor yacht club in the world, beginning in the Port Phillip Hotel in Melbourne in 1904.

Perched on the waters edge in Williamstown the club has expansive views of Melbourne, the club has occupied this position in the historical port since 1936.

Our new clubhouse boasts a large outdoor dining area, function room, undercover BBQ facilities and our Member's restaurant and bar on the first floor.

Our Clubhouse

Waterfront Dining and Venue

Perched on the water's edge in Williamstown, the club has expansive views of Melbourne. If you are a kindred club member, you can book a temporary berth or just come and enjoy a meal or drink in our clubhouse and then explore the historical port of Williamstown.

The Members' Bar on the first floor is open to club members, their guests and kindred club members. Our function rooms downstairs can accommodate up to 300 people for special occasions and can be booked through Ed Dixon Food Design.

Our clubhouse pays homage to maritime style, referencing its unique heritage. Large open plan balconies have expansive views to the water and what is undoubtedly the best view of the city of Melbourne.

RVMYC offers a social experience second to none for members and friends to enjoy, dining in a relaxed atmosphere and in convivial surroundings near the water's edge.

Bistro meals are currently available in the Member’s area on Wednesday evenings, Friday lunch-time and evenings, and Sunday lunch-time.

The Club is proud to offer private functions in the downstairs function room. RVMYC is one of Melbourne’s most picturesque venues overlooking the bay and the Melbourne City Skyline.

Our functions are managed by Ed Dixon Food Design who are a highly reputable boutique catering company. Refer to the Functions and Events section further below for more information.

Come and enjoy our unique location, and be lulled by the lapping water edge in our clubrooms, open to members and their guests.

The RVMYC has a private dining room making it the perfect place to entertain in Williamstown. The dining room opens out onto our roof top terrace to offer more for your guests. We can offer a sense of occasion without unnecessary formalities, making us ideal for celebrations, soirees and events, professional or personal.

We are flexible with what we can offer and have an open mind when it comes to your idea of perfection. This is your event and we can help as little or as much as required, whether you need to wow the crowd or keep things informal.

Our bistro menu focuses on fresh and local produce, with a few ingredients from the places that have inspired our dishes, with a distinct Waterfront identity. Canapé menus can be prepared if you want to achieve that more social experience for your guests.

The Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club is proud to offer private functions in the downstairs function room. Enjoy the in-house BBQ facilities and the picturesque views over Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne skyline.

Our BBQ facilities include 2 large triple burners with all cutlery and plates available for exclusive member use.

NOTICE TO MEMBERS

The Committee has reviewed the Club’s By-Laws, specifically By-Laws numbered 57, 66 and 70 and determined

members are permitted to take and consume BYO alcohol into and within the Club’s designated BBQ Area.
